From One Cafe Moment To A Citywide Mission

Three years ago, Anson Wong saw unsold baked goods being thrown away at a Hong Kong cafe. That moment led him to leave securities trading and focus on food waste, a challenge that makes up almost 30% of Hong Kong's solid waste. In 2023, he cofounded Eat100 with childhood friend Jerry Lo, building an app where restaurants can sell surplus food in surprise bags at discounts of up to 70% as closing time approaches.
